A method for setting a schedule of a mobile terminal is provided to remove user inconvenience that a user contacts with the other party for setting a schedule, sets a schedule by directly taking a note for a date available for setting the schedule, and carry around a notebook for managing schedules. When a request for searching a schedule is detected, a schedule search request message is generated upon receiving information of a recipient to which searching of the schedule is requested, a search period of the schedule, and authentication information(201,203,205,207). The schedule search request message is transmitted(209). A schedule search response message is received(211). A schedule according to the received schedule search response message is outputted(213). A schedule desired to be additionally set for the schedule is received(215,217). When the schedule is received, a schedule registration request message is transmitted(219).
