1,137,213. Cooling cement clinker; discharging rotary kilns. F. L. SMIDTH & CO., A.S. 20 June, 1967, No. 28345/67. Heading F4B. In a rotary cement kiln 1 having planetary cylindrical coolers 5 with outlets 6 upstream of the kiln, each outlet 6, Fig. 4, comprises a part cylindrical extension of the cooler with an end plate 7, inclined edge plate 10 and cooler end plate 8 defining a material outlet 9 whose edges line in an imaginary cylinder concentric with the kiln shell, and which is obturated by a plate 17 urged radially outwards by springs 18 as the cooler is in position to receive clinker from the kiln. The plate 8 has a tongue forming a half turn of a screw inside the cooler and directing discharge of cooled clinker therefrom. Discharged material falls from a shoot 14 through a hopper 16 forming part of a housing 15. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), each cooler has an outwardly directed discharge spout, obturated by a plate pressed radially inwards by springs.
|
