A PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF NITROBENZENE

Provided is a method for preparing nitrobenzene to obtain pure nitrobenzene simply and economically by washing process in different kinds of aqueous solution and electrophoresis. The method comprises the steps of reacting benzene with nitration acid to prepare nitrobenzene; washing the obtained nitrobenzene with an acidic aqueous solution; washing the obtained nitrobenzene with an alkaline aqueous solution; washing the obtained nitrobenzene with a neutral aqueous solution; and removing water and benzene from the obtained nitrobenzene to obtain purified nitrobenzene, wherein the washing process using a neutral aqueous solution comprises the steps of mixing nitrobenzene and water in a mixer to disperse water partially in an organic phase containing nitrobenzene substantially, thereby forming a dispersion; and applying a direct current to it to supply the dispersion into an electrophoresis equipment.
