<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission shaft in which a seal member is easily assembled, by preventing the lip of seal member from rising or inverting to suppress entering of foreign substances or leaking of grease. <P>SOLUTION: The power transmission shaft comprises a seal cap 19 which engages with an outer peripheral surface 18e of a seal member 12 and restrains a part of the end face of the seal member 12. Thus, even if a spline shaft 11 abruptly extends in an A direction to abruptly raise the pressure in a gap 15 inside the seal member 12, the seal cap 19 prevents a lip 18a of the seal member 12 from rising or inverting. When assembling the seal member 12, the seal cap 19 is removed so that the lip 18a is easily deformed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
