A system and a method for detecting/diagnosing skin diseases in the network are provided to enable a user to easily detect/diagnose the skin diseases in the network by classifying/storing the skin diseases according to each cause, searching the skin diseases according to an efficient skin disease search algorithm, and providing a diagnosis result. A patient terminal(130) inputs basic information for diagnosing the skin diseases and receives a skin disease detection/diagnosis result based on the inputted basic information by connecting to a web server(100) through the network(120). A self-diagnosis server(101) generates the skin disease detection/diagnosis result based on the basic information received from the patient terminal. A skin disease search engine(102) performs search according to a search request of the self-diagnosis server by using the basic information classified into each cause. A scanner(131) is linked with the patient terminal, scans an image for the skin diseases, and provides the scanning image to the self-diagnosis server.
