<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set a limited amount of a prescribed period. <P>SOLUTION: This portable terminal 10 stores account information, the limited amount of accumulated amounts of transaction amounts of the prescribed period and transaction history. This ATM (automatic teller machine) 20 receives the account information, the limited amount and the transaction history from the portable terminal 10. The ATM 20 extracts transaction information within the prescribed period from the received transaction history, totals the transaction amounts of the extracted transaction information and calculates accumulated amounts. The ATM 20 receives an input of a transaction amount being an amount to be paid and determines whether payment is possible according to whether the total amount of the accumulated amounts and a processed amount exceeds the limited amount.
