<p>A printing machine colour roller comprises a metallic core (7.1) and a surface coating (7.3) applied by plasma immersion ion implantation. The plasma coating contains Ti, Mb, Zr and/or other group 4 or 6 metals. The coating consists of at least two layers, and the composition is chosen so the total surface energy is a maximum of 35mN/m. A further metallic layer is located between the core and the plasma coating, and consists of Ni, Cr, Fe, B, and Si.</p> |
