A functional food containing Chinese date extract(Zizyphi Fructus) having antioxidant activity is provided. The functional food is a natural antioxidant having excellent antioxidant effect and has an effect of preventing aging and various diseases. A functional food contains at least 0.01% by weight of Chinese date extract and food acceptable additives and is selected from a formulation comprising a tablet, granule, soft gelatin capsule and liquid. The Chinese date extract is obtained by extracting Chinese date in alcohol, water or a mixture thereof.
