<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environment monitoring method capable of measuring even effects of environment or by environmental factors, such as chemical substances, electromagnetic waves, and radioactive rays, on a biosubstance such as a nucleic acid, and having high detection sensitivity. <P>SOLUTION: This environment monitoring method includes steps for: exposing the biosubstance fixed on a substrate to an environment to be monitored, measuring the degree of damages to the material, and evaluating, based on the measured degree of damages, the effect by the environment to be monitored on organisms. The degree of damages can be measured by visualizing and directly reading a damaged portion developed on the biosubstance, or by using a detection result analyzing means such as a computer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
