The short arms of which 2, 3 are connected by a synthetic monofilament 8 woven therebetween as a warp thread. During the weaving of each Y-tape on a single shuttle loom or on a needle loom with a high pick capacity of over 1000 picks per min, a synthetic filament is bound into the two short arms of the tape as a warp thread. Before or after weaving, closing teeth 9 are stamped in the filament. After weaving the Y-tape arms and the filament are compressed between pressure plates (see Fig. 5 not shown) under the action of heat, to bend the filament into U- shaped elements and if required secure the arms of the Y-tape to the elements. |
