BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMM AND SOC RESET METHOD THEREOF

A battery management system and a method for resetting state of charge(SOC) thereof are provided to increase fuel consumption efficiency and calculate SOC accurately through the reset by considering degradation of the battery. In a battery management system managing a battery including at least one pack, the pack comprises a plurality of cells. A sensing unit(10) measures and outputs a charge/discharge current, a battery voltage and battery temperature of the battery. A main control unit(20) estimates present SOC(State Of Charge) of the battery by using more than one of the charge/discharge current, the battery voltage and the battery temperature inputted from the sensing unit, and resets the estimated SOC with a first SOC when a set value of the first SOC corresponding to internal resistance of the battery and the battery temperature exists.
