An apparatus and a system for sensing critical events in a low power consumption sensor network are provided to transmit critical events while maintaining low power consumption instead of stop of communication for sleep time, thereby instantly notifying a user of critical events such as a fire. A system for sensing critical events in a low power consumption sensor network comprises the following steps of: communicating critical events with a router node when the critical events are happened; performing an awake operation during sleep time when the critical events are sensed; transmitting a control signal to the router node; notifying the critical events to an alarm when critical events are sensed by controlling data received from the router node; and operating the system by a user instead of automatic operation even through the critical events are happened.
