A device and a method for providing traffic information using a traffic card are provided to enable a user with the traffic card to easily recognize the traffic information including bus line information in voice or image by enabling a direction board installed to a bus stop to recognize the traffic card of the user. An interface(105) exchanges information including fare information by connecting to the traffic card of the user. An input part(107) provides an input tool to the user. An information output part(109) outputs the requested traffic/fare information to the user. An information storing part(101) transfers the traffic information including bus service/line information to the information output part according to a request of a processor(103). The processor verifies the traffic card, reads the requested information from the information storing part, provides the read information to the information output part, and calculates the fare according to information use. The information storing part includes the first communicator exchanging the bus service information with a bus and the second communicator connecting to the settlement system(120). |
