RING OPENING METATHESIS POLYMERIZATION OF NORBORNENE USING POLYSTYRENYLIC ANION AS A COCATALYST

Provided are a method for preparing polynorbornene to improve production yield, and a complex polymerization catalyst for preparing polynorbornene by ring-opening polymerization. The method comprises the step of ring-opening polymerizing a norbornene monomer dissolved in an apolar solvent in the presence of a complex catalyst prepared by mixing a tungsten salt compound and a polystyrene anion, wherein the amount of the complex catalyst is 1x10^-4 to 1x10^03 mol based on 1 mol of the norbornene monomer. Preferably the polystyrene anion is prepared by polymerizing a styrene monomer in the presence of n-butyl lithium or sec-butyl lithium and tetrahydrofuran as a Lewis base.
