BACKLIGHT UNIT AND DISPLAY APPARATUS USING THE SAME

A backlight unit and a display device using the same are provided to intercept the transmission of heat from the backlight unit to a display panel, thereby preventing deterioration of the display panel from being generated. A backlight unit includes a light emitting member. A diffusion plate(220) is attached on the light emitting member(210). An optical film(230) is attached on the diffusion plate. One or more spaces with low pressure state below the atmospheric pressure are formed to the inside of the diffusion plate. A spacer is formed at the space and the height thereof is the same as that of the space. Plural spaces are uniformly distributed at the inside of the diffusion plate. A transparent film is formed at the inside of the diffusion plate and includes the spaces therein. The optical film includes a diffusion film for diffusing the light beam of the light emitting member. A prism film condenses the light beam transmitted from the diffusion film and transmits the condensed light beam to the outside.
