A mobile terminal and an optical engine module for a mobile terminal are provided to solve a problem that the existing LCD monitor has a limited small size that it is inconvenient for a user to view image information. A communication unit(11) performs communication. A signal processing unit(12) converts an image signal received through the communication unit(11) into a digital signal and outputs it. An optical engine unit(14) generates an image according to the digital signal outputted from the signal processing unit(12) and projects it. A keypad unit(15) inputs a command required for operating the optical engine unit(14). When the command for operating the optical engine unit(14) is inputted by a user through the keypad unit(15), a controller(10) controls the optical engine unit(14) to project an image. A casing accommodates each element.
