With this invention, upon scanning a print, since additional information recorded together with that print is reproduced while displaying the scanned image, a special effect that cannot normally be obtained from still images can be obtained. A print on which image information and additional information, different from the image information, are printed is scanned by a scanner ( 209 ). An additional information demultiplexer ( 210 ) demultiplexes that additional information, which is decoded by an error correction decoder ( 211 ). After that, the image and the decoded additional information (moving image or/and acoustic information) are simultaneously reproduced in combination.
