A communication terminal for deleting a number of an incoming call received in user's absence and an operation method of the communication terminal are provided to minimize an unnecessary call setup request signal generated from a communication terminal. The second communication terminal generates a delete request message with respect to a phone number selectively inputted by a user and transmits it to a communication terminal corresponding to the phone number(601). The communication terminal maintains incoming/outgoing phone number information and absent incoming call number information in a memory unit(602). The communication terminal checks whether the message is for deleting the absent incoming call phone number information(603). When the message is the delete request message, the communication extracts a caller phone number from the delete request message(604). The communication terminal searches the first absent incoming call phone number information corresponding to the caller phone number(605). The communication terminal deletes the first absent incoming call phone number from the memory unit(606).
