PURPOSE: A digital broadcasting system and controlling method thereof are provided to previously recognize interruption of data carousel viewed by a TV viewer if a data service requesting time does not coincide with an effective time of the data carousel. CONSTITUTION: The digital broadcasting system comprises a digital broadcasting unit for broadcasting a plurality of programs along with data related to each program and a data processing way information, and a broadcasting receiving unit for receiving first data related to a first program out of the plurality of programs. In the system, if the first data is changed to second data while performing the data service and thus the broadcasting receiving unit does not obtain information from the first data, the broadcasting receiving unit changes a data service interrupting way according to a processing way predetermined in the first data. The broadcasting receiving unit comprises a service requesting portion(560) for requesting the data service related to each program, a program change requesting portion(570) for requesting a change of the present first program into a second program, a processing portion(580) for receiving first data related to a first program out of the plurality of programs. |
