OPTICAL FILTER AND PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL EMPLOYING THE SAME

An optical filter and a plasma display panel adopting the same are provided to increase the quality of an image of the plasma display panel by uniformly controlling the color of a filter. In an optical filter(300), a maximum value of a filter transmissive spectrum within a range of 450~680nm is below 45%. Difference between the maximum and minimum values of the filter transmissive spectrum within a range of 450~680nm is over 15%. Difference between the maximum and minimum values of transmissivity at 450, 530, and 630nm is below 15%. The optical filter has an infrared ray shielding layer and an electromagnetic wave or static electricity intercepting layer(301). The lowest wavelength of the infrared ray shielding layer within a range of 800~1200nm is below 30%. The electromagnetic wave or static electricity intercepting layer contains fiber meshes, metal meshes, or a conductive film.
