A reciprocating compressor is provided to maintain low pressure pulsation, and to remarkably reduce vibration or noise of the reciprocating compressor by setting length of each connection pipe transferring compression gas to have predetermined length. A reciprocating compressor comprises a plurality of gas compression units(21,22). The plurality of the gas compression units including a cylinder and a piston are disposed in the reciprocating compressor. The respective piston of the gas compression units converts rotation movement of a crank shaft installed in a drive source into reciprocation movement by scotch yoke movement so as to be interlocked with the reciprocating compressor. An expansion type muffler is installed in a discharge hole of at least one gas compression unit.
