A video reproducing apparatus and a control method therefor are provided to enhance the use efficiency of the entire screen and configure a picture so that it is convenient for a user to view without the additional operation of the user by automatically expanding a display window of the other video stream, which is not ended when the reproduction of one of a main video stream and a sub-video stream is primarily ended, as the entire screen size when simultaneously displaying the main video stream and the sub-video stream through respective display windows. A video data processing unit(300) simultaneously and asynchronously reproduces a main video stream and a sub-video stream, and controls a position and a size of a corresponding display window. If the reproduction of one of the main video stream and the sub-video stream reproduced in the video data processing unit(300) is ended, a video output control unit(312) controls the video data processing unit(300) to expand a display window of another video stream whose reproduction is not ended as the entire screen size of a display device.
