METHOD FOR COLOR LOOK-UP TABLE GENERATION

A method for generating a CLUT(Color Look-Up Table) and a color conversion method using the same are provided to maximally prevent the degradation of a color conversion speed and save a storing space needed in the CLUT. A CLUT is generated by using information about difference between respective channel values before and after respective colors are converted. Color conversion is performed by using the generated CLUT. A code bit is added to difference values of the respective channel values. The maximum difference value among the difference values is confirmed, and an information storing field is formed by using only the number of bits required in the corresponding maximum difference value. A primary compression table in which the difference values are primarily compressed is generated.
