A device for managing a kitchen and a food management method using the same are provided to efficiently consume food and manage a period of circulation of the food by automatically storing food information with an RFID tag attached to the food stored in a refrigerator and informing a user of food management information. An input part(20) automatically inputs the food information by recognizing a barcode or RFID tag attached to a package of the food if a storage position of the food is fixed. A storing part(30) stores the received food information. A display part(50) displays the food information of each freezer/refrigerator shelf and displays current date. An alarm part(60) informs the user of expiration information stored in the storing part. A controller(10) comprises a microprocessor or a computer for determining checking the sell by date of the food by comparing the expiration with current time, informing the alarm part of the sell by date coming, and controlling a signal flow of each component. A communicator(70) transmits the stored information to a wired/wireless communication device.
