A liquid crystal display panel is provided to achieve the high contrast ratio and the high display quality by reducing the light leakage through a contact hole and from a protrusion of a reflective portion. A first substrate and a second substrate are disposed so as to face each other. A liquid crystal layer is disposed between the first and second substrates and has a negative dielectric anisotropy. Pixels are disposed in a matrix form on the first substrate and each include a reflective portion(15). A switching device is disposed to correspond to each pixel on the first substrate. An interlayer insulating layer covers the switching device. Contact holes(20) are formed in the interlayer insulating layer. Pixel electrodes(19a,19b) are formed on the interlayer insulating layer and is electrically connected to the switching device through the contact holes. A common electrode is formed on the second substrate. Protrusions(311~313) are formed to correspond to the pixels on the common electrode and regulate inclination of liquid crystal molecules. A vertical alignment layer is formed on each of the first and second substrates. The protrusions are disposed to face the contact holes. A light blocking layer is formed on the second substrate so as to cover bottoms of the protrusions.
