The supply to a motor 1, e.g. driving a screwdriver or watch-winding apparatus, is interrupted at 3 at a predetermined torque and restored after a predetermined time, sufficient to allow repositioning of the tool. The contacts 3 are actuated by an electromagnet 15 connected to a monostable multivibrator. As shown, when the voltage across potential divider 4, 5 is sufficient, transistor 9 cuts off and switches on transistor 14 to energize 15 and open contacts 3; the circuit resumes its stable state after a delay determined by R.C. network 12, 18 and 13. A filter network 6, 7, 8 prevents maloperation by transients but in Fig. 2 (not shown), better discrimination is obtained by interposing a relay, switched by the potential drop across 4, 5 via a transistor amplifier and choke, which reverses the potential applied to the monostable circuit of Fig. 1. |
