PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein it is hard to satisfy the reliability of an expansion valve unit by controlling the initialization of the expansion valve each time the power is turned on, after turning off the power to a heat pump unit on the side of a hot water storage tank unit for reducing stand-by power.

SOLUTION: Neccessity for controlling the initialization of the expansion valve 13 right after powering on the heat pump unit is determined only by using an electronic control device 30 of the heat pump unit, as shown in Fig. 1. This secures the reliability of the expansion valve unit and prevents the operation stop of the product.
