PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively use a recording area by preventing duplicate recording of music pieces having the same lyric and melody but different in arrangement. SOLUTION: The sound recording device is provided with a informing part, an operating part to which start instruction and sound recording stop instruction are input, a data obtaining part capturing digital music data, a lyric extracting part extracting lyric from music data captured by the data obtaining part, a recording part recording words and music data extracted by the lyric extracting part, and a control part controlling the informing part, the data obtaining part, the lyric extracting part, and the recording part based on sound recording start instruction from the operating part. The control part collates lyric extracted by the lyric extracting part with lyric of the other music piece previously recorded in the recording part, when they are coincident, controls the informing part, to inform that music piece having the same lyric is recorded.
