PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve continuous recording by enhancing security of information data during transition period between recording layers in a multi-layer recording medium without increasing capacity of a memory. SOLUTION: The recording device is provided with an input means for inputting information data, the memory storing the input information data, a writing means for reading the information data stored in the memory and for writing it to the disk recording medium having a plurality of recording layers, and a control means for changing the writing procedure by the writing means in response to the fact that the distance between the writing position on the disk recording medium by the writing means and the position to which the writing means should move the recording layer becomes a predetermined value.
