PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small heat source cooling mechanism and electric apparatus, for efficiently cooling the heat source while suppressing entry of dust, a foreign particle, waste, and the like, into the heat source. SOLUTION: A vent pipe 11 is arranged outside a chassis 21 for an optical disk drive 2 for accommodating a spindle motor 22 and an optical pickup part 23 as the heat source. Each of both ends of this vent pipe 11 is connected with back wall parts 211a, 212a of the chassis 21, and a blower is arranged on an intake port 11a of the vent pipe 11, so that the air inside the chassis 21 positively passes through inside the vent pipe 11. A heat sink 12, constituted of a heat absorbing part 121 and a heat exhausting part 122 inside the vent pipe 11, is arranged in the vent pipe 11, the air passing through the vent pipe 11 is cooled, and the cooled air cools the heat source by circulating inside the chassis 21.
