PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display apparatus whose cell gap is made uniform when forming spacer columns by developing a resin resist. SOLUTION: Two or more spacer columns 31 are formed between an array substrate 110 and a counter substrate 120, and these spacer columns 31 are formed by exposing and developing an acrylic resin resist, and a cross-sectional form of these spacer columns 31 is formed into a potbellied type so that the upstream side of the spacer columns 31 to which a developer is flowing at the time of developing may be larger than the down stream side from which the developer flows out.
