PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speech address recognition apparatus capable of efficiently recognizing speech uttered by a user without increasing an information amount of a dictionary for recognizing speech. SOLUTION: Based on an address number pattern stored in an address number memory section 5, it is determined how many slots exist and what a maximum digit number is. By performing speech recognition based on the determination result, speech is recognized for each slot using a dictionary for recognizing general consecutive numbers. For example, when the maximum digit number of each slot stored in the address number pattern memory section 5 is four, a dictionary 35 for recognizing the address number may recognize consecutive numbers of only 1 to 9999. Consequently, a data amount of the dictionary 35 for recognizing the address number is reduced. As the number of slots is determined from the address number pattern, the number of times for demanding utterance to the user is controlled and user's convenience is enhanced.
