METHOD OF HYDROGENOLYSIS OF WAX AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING FUEL BASE

A method of wax hydrogenolysis in which a raw wax is subjected to hydrogenolysis and undecomposed wax fractions resulting from the hydrogenolysis are subjected again to hydrogenolysis, characterized in that a mixture of the raw wax and the undecomposed wax fractions is subjected to hydrogenolysis in the presence of a hydrogenolysis catalyst so that the conversion of wax fractions having a boiling point of 360°C or higher into light fractions having a boiling point lower than 360°C is 50-85 mass%. The method, in which the undecomposed wax is subjected to hydrogenolysis by bottom recycling, can attain both an improvement in the yield of an intermediate fraction which is the target fraction for the hydrogenolysis and a reduction in n-paraffin content in the intermediate fraction.
