<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the periphery monitoring device of a vehicle for reducing the possibility that an object of detection and a background object are overlapped on a reference image, and for accurately detecting an object in the case of detecting an object in the periphery of a vehicle from an image acquired via a plurality of imaging means. <P>SOLUTION: This periphery monitoring device of a vehicle is configured to detect an object existing in the periphery of a vehicle 10 from an image acquired through imaging means 2R and 2L mounted on a vehicle 10, and is provided with an object extracting means 1 for performing processing for extracting an object to a predetermined reference image among images acquired via the imaging means 2R and 2L; a traveling environment detecting means 1 for detecting the traveling environment of the vehicle 10; and a reference image selecting means 1 for newly selecting a reference image to be used for the processing of the object extracting means 1, according to the detected traveling environment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
