PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide food or drug medicine comprising bifidobacteria proliferation-promoting peptide exerting bifidobacteria proliferation-promoting effect.

SOLUTION: The bifidobacteria proliferation-promoting peptide is obtained by dissolving meat protein (actomyosin) with protease such as papain to obtain a composition having bifidobacteria proliferation-promoting effect. The peptide having the bifidobacteria proliferation-promoting effect and shown by the array of Glu-Ler-Met is obtained by purification of a decomposed product or by chemical synthesis based on the array information.
