<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing propylene, which has high propylene selectively and uses a raw material having excellent handleability, to obtain a solid acid catalyst suitable for the method for producing propylene and to provide a method for regenerating a catalyst, with which the catalyst used in the production method is efficiently regenerated. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing propylene comprises continuously reacting ethanol on a catalyst and converting it into propylene. The solid acid catalyst has the reaction rate constant k of a butane cracking reaction at 500°C of 0.1-30 (cm<SP>3</SP>/min×g) and is used for the method for producing propylene. The solid acid catalyst has the opening diameters of pores formed on the surface of 0.3-1.0nm and is used for the method for producing propylene. The method for regenerating a catalyst comprises heat-treating the catalyst, after the production of propylene by the method for producing propylene, in an oxygen atmosphere. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
