<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance system carrying out the maintenance of the image forming member of the image forming device which can prolong the usable life of a drum maintenance unit and hold or enhance printing quality and printing speed. <P>SOLUTION: The maintenance system includes a precleaning device 112 for cleaning an image forming member 102 prior to an image cycle, an applicator 108 for applying a removing agent onto the image forming member 102, a measuring blade 110 for measuring the removing agent on the image forming member 102, a reservoir 122 for storing the removing agent in a remote position, and a pump 123 for supplying the removing agent from the reservoir 122 to the applicator 108. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
