<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly inflate an airbag body for an occupant positioned near an instrument panel when an airbag device is actuated. <P>SOLUTION: In a module case 20 for housing an airbag body 16 and an inflator 18, a central part 20C corresponding to a seating center of an occupant 14 is separated from the occupant 14 than both ends 20E in a vehicle forward and backward direction. Therefore, if the occupant 14 is positioned near an instrument panel 28, a distance D2 can be secured between the occupant 14 and the central part 20C, and the body of the occupant 14 is not overlapped on the module case 20. Therefore, the airbag body 16 can be sufficiently inflated, and the airbag body 16 can be properly inflated to the occupant 14 positioned near the instrument panel 28. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
