PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arching breaker for a material storage hopper, which ensures smooth delivery by making a stored material near the internal wall of the hopper to smoothly flow down with arching effectively restrained. SOLUTION: A stir shaft 19 is pivoted above the screw feeder 5 of the material storage hopper 1 so as to be freely rotated. The periphery of the stir shaft 19 is provided with feed vanes 25 and 26 which have their respective predetermined feed angles so that a material stored in the hopper is fed toward the center in the longitudinal direction of the stir shaft 19 while stirred. While loosely stirred by rotating the stir shaft 19 by means of a drive motor 21, the stored material around the stir shaft 19 is fed toward the center in the longitudinal direction of the stir shaft 19.
