A game machine capable of expressing a variation of the shade of an object made by the light emitted from a light source with a variation of the position of the light source or a variation of the shape (posture) of the object while suppressing an increase of the amount of data. The game machine displays the scene of a virtual three-dimensional space (40), viewed from a given viewpoint, in which a light source (48), a first object (field object (42)), and a second object (character object (44)) disposed on the first object (field object (42)) are arranged. A shade-making object (50) for drawing the shade (45) of the second object is so disposed as to overlap with the first object depending on the position of the second object. The transparency at each vertex of the shade-drawing object (50) is determined by the position of the light source (48) and the position and shape data on the second object, and a game screen is created according to the determined transparencies. |
