A magnetic field sensing element comprises a pair of electrodes (12) ; a dielectric polymer layer (16) separating the electrodes; and a network of magnetic nanoparticles (18) in the insulating layer forming a current flow path between the electrodes. The network of magnetic nanoparticles comprises at least one magnetic tunnel junction involving two neighbouring nanoparticles of different coercivity.
