<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable information device capable of operating a plurality of screens displayed on one display. <P>SOLUTION: Button inputs for buttons (direction button, selection button and the like) arranged in an upper side of a front face of a cellular phone as buttons for operating a mail reception box screen, a numeral button arranged in lower side as a button for operating a transmission mail preparing screen, and a side button arranged in a side face are specified to be effective, as correspondence of a combination of the screens to the buttons effective for the operation inputs for the respective screens, when the mail reception box screen and the transmission mail preparing screen are displayed on an upper screen of a main display part.
