<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus or the like capable of easily comprehending and managing expenditure of a genuine consumable unit. <P>SOLUTION: Identification information to discriminate the genuine consumable unit, which is allowable or rcomended in use, is stored. Whether a consumable unit used in the image forming apparatus is the genuine consumable unit or not is determined based on the stored identification information and specific information acquired from the consumable unit. When determining that the used consumable unit is the genuine consumable unit, the newest operating result information based on the operating result of the consumable unit and the operating result of the genuine consumable unit stored in a second storage means is stored, and also is recorded on a predetermined recording medium attendant on the consumable unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
