<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that the life of a photoreceptor drum in an image forming apparatus is exhausted at a point which is not intended by a user, because the photoreceptor drum rotates while coming into contact with a conveying device until a series of printing operation is finished after the image forming apparatus starts paper feeding operation, and then the rotation of the photoreceptor drum is kept even in a state where the photoreceptor drum does not contribute to a series of operation hitherto. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: the photoreceptor drum 10a carrying a latent image based on input information; a second sensor 24b and a third sensor 24c detecting the position of paper R on a medium conveying path; and a printing control part 100 controlling the driving of the photoreceptor drum 10a.
