PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable reading out an image from a solid-state imaging device with a simple structure and low power consumption, and to enable reading out the image with high accuracy. SOLUTION: On the lower side (the final stage on the lower side of a vertical transfer path) of a light receiving area 100, there is disposed a horizontal transfer path (HCCD) 110 for transferring signal charges transferred from a vertical transfer path 104 to the horizontal direction. On the upper side (the final stage on the upper side of the vertical transfer path 104) of the light receiving area 100, there is disposed a horizontal transfer path 112 having a larger charge storage capacity than the charge storage capacity of the horizontal transfer path 110.
