PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decoding apparatus, a decoding method, and a receiver by optimizing the number of repetitive processing times so as to attain high efficiency. SOLUTION: The decoding apparatus 1 includes: first and second decoders 2, 3 as decode processing sections for repetitively decoding received data; a hard decision section 8 for calculating a hard decision result on the basis of logarithmic likelihood ratios L1, L2 from the first and second decoders 2, 3; and a stop decision section 9 for executing stop decision as to whether or not the repetitive decoding applied to the received data is stopped on the basis of a result of the hard decision section 8. The decoding apparatus 1 executes one repetitive decoding by the decoding processing by the decoders 2, 3, respectively, and the hard decision section 8 executes stop decision in timing at the end of decode processing by the first decoder 2 and at the end of decode processing by the second decoder.
