<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To aim at improvement of power generating stability of a fuel cell system by efficiently carrying out purging of fuel gas even without the use of a concentration detector of the fuel gas. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system S is provided with a diluting unit comprising a first guide part guiding in intermittently purged fuel gas, a second guide part bifurcating oxidant offgas from an oxidant offgas piping and guiding it in as diluting gas, a space part where gas led in from the first guide part and the second guide part is mixed to make diluted gas, and a drainage part draining the diluted gas thus mixed out to the oxidant offgas piping and a control means. The control means calculates a volume of remnant fuel gas in the diluting unit based on a lead-in volume of the fuel gas, a flow of the oxidant offgas, a modulus of ventilation, and a volume of the diluted gas, and, in accordance with a volume of that remnant fuel gas carries out appropriate purging. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
