<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial lung which prevents air bubbles in blood from flowing out of a blood outflow part. <P>SOLUTION: The artificial lung 10 is equipped with a housing 2A, a hollow fiber membrane layer 3A which is housed in the housing 2A and is formed by accumulating a plurality of hollow fiber membranes with a gas exchanging function, a gas inflow part and a gas outflow part respectively provided on the upstream side and the downstream side of a gas channel while the lumen of each hollow fiber membrane is used as the gas channel, and a blood inflow part and the blood outflow part respectively provided on the upstream side and the downstream side of a blood channel while the outside of each hollow fiber membrane is used as the blood channel. The artificial lung 10 includes an air bubble eliminating means 4A, equipped with a filter member 41A having the function of capturing the air bubbles in the blood and an air bubble reservoir 43A accumulating and retaining at least a part of the air bubbles captured by the filter member 41A, on the side of the blood outflow part of the hollow fiber membrane layer 3A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
