PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of confusion of a user side as much as possible when presenting to the user a countermeasure when a receiving channel is not displayed when the power is on. SOLUTION: This broadcast signal receiver selects a designated channel about a broadcast signal received through an antenna and outputs the broadcast signal of the designated channel to a monitor 90 through a video IC 30 or the like. When the power is turned on, a microcomputer 60 makes a tuner 10 select a channel selected when the power is immediately turned off. As a result, when there is no broadcast signal of a channel outputted from the tuner 10, an image (image reflecting no video) of the corresponding channel is displayed on the monitor 90, and an image of a countermeasure is subsequently displayed through an OSD (On Screen Display) circuit 140.
