PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clarify drain or waste water by separating fibrous trashes or other fine solid matter from water without being affected by surface tension of water only by supplying waste water to a simple screen net. SOLUTION: In this solid/liquid separating apparatus, the screen net 2 made up of fine mesh is supported on a frame 1 in a vertically abrupt inclination, a sewage supply port 3 is provided on the upper face of an upper screen of the screen net 2, water stopping plates 4, 4' are provided in a protruding manner at the lower face of the screen of the screen net 2, and water or air discharge ports 5, 5 directed toward the screen upper face are arranged side by side in a narrow-angle parts a, a' between the water stopping plates 4, 4' and the upstream side screen net 2.
